VLF Cable Testing
Medium-voltage cable integrity testing with the HVA28TD.
Medium-voltage cable failures are catastrophic and expensive. JMS Critical Power uses the HVA28TD very low frequency (VLF) test system to assess cable insulation condition — without the destructive effects of DC hipot testing. We serve mining, industrial, and utility customers across the region.
VLF testing at 0.1 Hz applies AC stress to cable insulation, revealing defects that DC testing misses. We perform withstand and diagnostic (tan delta) testing on XLPE, EPR, and PILC cables up to 28 kV. Ideal for acceptance testing after installation, periodic maintenance testing, and post-fault cable assessment.
